Naomi Chye
(Choral Director)

Ms Naomi Chye obtained her Master of Music degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, majoring in choral studies and conducting. Before pursuing her undergraduate studies at the University of Adelaide, majoring in Piano Performance and the following year, Post Graduate Diploma in Education, she was awarded Piano Teaching Diplomas in both LRSM and ATCL. During her undergraduate studies, she emerged as the highest scorer in Piano Performance and was awarded the Patrick Greenland scholarship. Upon her return from studies, she served as Choral director and Music teacher at Tanjong Katong Secondary School, and led the school choir to the 1st SYF Gold Award. After her stint as a Music Programme Officer at MOE Curriculum Planning Division, she was awarded the Japanese Monbusho scholarship to pursue her Diploma studies in Japanese traditional music and curriculum studies at Tokyo Gagugei University. She has been serving in Cedar Girls’ Secondary School, her alma mater as a Choral Director and Music Teacher since and has led the choir to obtaining SYF Gold awards as well as garnering awards at overseas competitions.
